Perthe’s Disease (in children):

• interruption of blood supply to hip/femoral head leads to avascular necrosis (parts of bone start to die)
• symptoms: pain & limping, unable to weight bear, can result in fracture
• can affect both legs
• needs X-ray +/- MRI scan
• surgery maybe necessary
