Management within medicine is something we will all experience on a daily basis as a medical student, a junior doctor, or as a consultant. Learning these skills early on is essential for your clinical practice as well as improving your career prospects. Unfortunately, the medical professional is in its infancy compared with modern day management techniques. This is something you will realise from day one working within the NHS and can lead to frustration, poor productivity, and less than optimal patient care.
What this section of themedicalstudent.com attempts to do is unique and something I have never come across during my years in medicine. We are going to bridge the large divide between medicine and management, giving you the opportunity to learn skills that will make your life as a medic much easier, more enjoyable, and more rewarding.
